Description
What makes Das.Brett different from other balance boards?
Other types of balance board are generally solid – i.e. meaning that they have no flexibility. Das.Brett are German engineered with 7 layers of wood adhered together to produce a beautifully flexible board so you can bounce. They can take weight up to 120kgs.
Das.Brett are also ecologically made using sustainable European from Northrine Westfalia and finished with completely natural, non toxic glues and oils. All in all they are a beautifully natural product!

Which Das.Brett wobble board is right for you?
Each Das.Brett wobble board is engineered to famously high German standards. Each board consists of 7 layers of beech veneer glued and bent under high temperature and pressure and then finished by hand – this gives the Das.Brett its uniques flexibility, ‘bounciness’ and strength.
Oiled or lacquered?
The oiled boards have a darker, richer finish with the advantage that the oil leaves the pores of the wood open – this means any scratches or damage can be easily ‘buffed’ out if needed. The grain of the wood really shows beautifully with the natural linseed oiled finish.
The advantage of a lacquered board is that it provides slightly more weather protection. You would be ok using a lacquered board outside in moist conditions. Lacquered boards use a harder natural oil which has the effect of closing the pores meaning that they can be exposed to heavier dirt and also a higher level of moisture but are also slightly more prone to scratching. Lacquered boards are lighter in colour, with a slightly coarser finish meaning the grain of the wood is less prevalent.
In summary oiled is for indoor use only whereas lacquered would be better if you intend to use it outdoors at all.
Cork underside or bare underside?
In general, have a cork underside on your Das.Brett if you are going to use the board on a hard floor as this provides grip and will stop the board from getting damaged. You can still use a cork board on a carpet but it will grip the floor so is a lot harder to move around.
A bare underside is if you are going to use the board on carpet – this opens up lots of opportunities for new tricks and uses as the board can slide around.
If you are frailer, the security of using a cork underside wobble board will stop any slippage whereas for younger and more athletic users, the ability to slip and slide around will open up more possibilities
Is Das.Brett just for kids?
No! Das.Brett can take weights of up to 120kg and are a great way for adults to build strength and condition muscles as well as being a great Joga partner. Your Das.Brett can be fun for all the family!
